High school graduates who were Girl Reserves of Troop 1 were honored Tuesday evening with a party given by the retired leaders, Mrs. Gerald Gibbons and Miss Beth Applebury, at the Gibbons home. Assisting the hostesses were two Junior members, Marie Barr and Loyce Simmoas. The honor guests were Wilma Whitesitt. Wilma Foreman, Doris and Dorothy Adams.

With the Installation of the automatic telephone system, these young ladies will be transferred to other offices of the Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph company. Beulah Young will go to Sheridan and Miss Hinman and Genevieve Young will work in the Missoula dpeartment. The party closed with refreshments.

Seventy-Second Birthday. Mrs. Mary Psenda was surprised Saturday when many of her neighbors and friends arrived with gifts, flowers and refreshments, including a beautiful birthday cake. The occasion was Mrs. Psenda's seventy-second birthday.

Mrs. S. H. Irvine presided, giving the invocation and welcome to the class. The response was given by Leonard Heath, president of the senior class.

The program also included numbers by Joyce Whitesitt, Mr. Caneen, Mrs. N. E. Korn, Mrs, Charles Huwald.

May Willie May Sherwin, whose marriage to Harold Hagen of Stevensville is to be an event of May 28, was honored by a pre-nuptial shower at the home of Mrs. Jean Grafton and her mother, Mrs. McHcnry Grafton, Tuesday evening. Forget-me-nots and violets brightened tables for a dessert supper and the rooms of the Grafton home were filled with lilacs and tulips. Contract and Chinese checkers were diversion until the gift time and awards for cards went to Mrs.

Milton Byrd and Mrs. George B. Taylor, and to Mrs. James Oliva and Mrs. Hersman Sherwin for the checkers.

LcMassena founded on Hawthorne's story, "The Paradise of Children," was performed Monday evening at 8 o'clock by members of the Paxson school. A capacity crowd attended the operetta which was directed by Miss Gladys Steven, music instructor, and Pearl Johnson, in charge of speaking. All the department teachers cooperated in making the play a success.

The principals included Gloria Fahnlander, as "Pandora;" Florence Adams as "Hope;" Tommy Lou Rush Methodist Aid Society. The Methodist Ladies' Aid society held a no-hostess meeting at the church Thursday afternoon. A Dole, Mrs. W. W.

The luncheon was a farewell gathering of the faculty members before they leave for summer vacations. The All Star club had friends as guests Friday afternoon at the Masonic temple. Five hundred and bridge provided diversion, with high score favors going to Mrs. Troy Mc-Kinney and Mrs. R.

D. Giesy. The Four o'clock Garden club was entertained Tuesday afternoon by Mrs. Clyde Pendergraft. The Sunrise division of the Central Valley Garden club had an enjoyable meeting Wednesday afternoon with Mrs.
