LaValle, a bookkeeper at mill, received the Red Cross Certificate of Merit at a ceremony In the Missoula County Courthouse. Gov, Thomas Judge presented the award, On June 5, LaValle was traveling near Tremonton, Utah, when she came upon a traffic accident. The driver of an automobile that had been wedged under the back qS V' of a truck was suffering from multiple ex-iniurips. LaValle. who Vaille UValle because of a disability.

He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church In Kalispell. Mr. Danielson was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. Survivors include his wife, Margaret, Kalispell; four children, Christine, Juanita, Robert and Darlene, all at the family home in Kalispell; two brothers, Pete and Fred, both of Kalispell; and a nephew, Robert, Kalispell. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m.

Monday in Johnson Chapel with the Rev. Peder Waldun, pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Conrad Memorial Cemetery. Missoulian Slute Bureau HELENA The committee assignments of 27 of Montana'i 50 senators have been shuffled io that senators don't serve on two or more major committees scheduled to meet at the same time. The changes were announced Wednesday by Sen.

Jack Gait, R-Martinsdale, chairman of the all-Republican Senate Committee on Committees. The changes affect committee appointments made Nov. 22. Three committees Agriculture, Fish and Game, and Highways and Transportation have been reduced in size. One Natural Resources was increased, giving the Republicans a 6-4 majority where they previously had a 5-4 majority.

Only 6 of the Senate'i 17 committees were untouched by the reorganization, The only committee leadership post to be changed was the vice-chairmanship of Fish and Game. That Job was taken from Mark Etchart, R-Glasgow, and given to Gait, who previously held a regular committee scat. Gait was replaced by Mike Anderson, R-Belgrade. George McCallum, R-Niarada, and Bob Palmer, D-Missoula, were taken off Fish and Game. Other committee changes are: BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY.

Pete Story, R-Emigrant, ielson, 55, Kalispell, died In Kaliipell Regional Hospital Thursday evening. He was born Aug. 20, 1923, in Kalispell, a son of Oscar and Christine Danielson, Mr. Danielson attended Kalispell schools and was a 1942 graduate of Flathead High School. On March 4, 1943, he entered the Army in Butte and received his honorable discharge Jan.

1, 1946, at Fort Douglas, Utah. He married Margaret Flach-meyer In Kalispell Feb. 21, 1959. Mr. Danielson worked as a mechanic with various firms, Including the Farmers Union.

He retired about six years ago and S.A. Olson, R-Glendive, replaced by Harold Dover, R-Lewistown, and Thomas Hager, R-Billings; Steve Brown, D-Hel-ena, replaced by Chet Blaylock, D-Laurel. FINANCE AND CLAIMS. John Mehrens, D-Anaconda, replaced by Lawrence Stlmatz, D-Butte. JUDICIARY.

Gary Akles-tad, R-Shelby, replaced by Gait; Patrick Ryan, D-Great Falls, replaced by John Healy, D-Butte. STATE ADMINISTRATION. Bill Norman, D-Missoula, and Healy replaced by William Hafferman, D-Libby, and Ryan. AGRICULTURE. Dover and Hafferman eliminated.

Around Missoula Sheriff resigns post early HELENA (AP) Lewis and Clark County Sheriff Rick Westlund, defeated In the November electon, has resigned two weeks early to accept a job on the county road crew. Chuck O'Reilly will be sworn In as sheriff Dec.

15 instead of on Jan. 1, as other newly elected county officials will be. County Commissoner Chris Gardner said Westlund submitted a letter of resignation Wednesday. Westlund will begin work Dec. 18 as a county equipment operator in Wolf Creek, where he owns a home.

He will earn $1,174 a month, about $100 per month less than he earned as sheriff. "He will run snowplows, patch roads and help man the section," said Bob Matthews, the road crew foreman. HAMILTON Forrest G. Jamison, 69, a retired savings and loan association employee, died early Thursday in the Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital In Hamilton. He was bom July 12, 1909, in Copan, and was educated at Coffeyville, Kan.

He married Jean Lowe Sept. 20, 1945, In Coffeyville. He worked for First Federal Savings and Loan Association at Coffeyville and then moved to Omaha, in 1950 to work for the same firm. He retired in 1967 and he and his wife moved to Hamilton in 1974. Mr.

Jamison was a member of the Hamilton Methodist-Baptist Federated Church, Ionic Lodge 38 Comman-dery Chapter of Royal Arch Masons and Council of Tangier Temple of Omaha. Survivors include his husband, Hamilton; a son, Forrest; a sister, Mrs. E.F. Coffeyville; and three grandsons. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m.

Long, 30, will be Monday at 3 p.m. in the Dowling Chapel in Hamilton.

Mr. Long died in a logging truck accident Thursday 25 miles north of Salmon, Idaho. The Rev. Eugene Bartels will officiate at the funeral and burial will be in the Corvallis Cemetery. Mr.

Long was born March 4, 1948, in Hamilton and educated here. He served in the Army from June 15, 1965, to Jan. 26, 1967, and was stationed in Vietnam. For several years he worked in Great Falls for Blue Cross. He moved to Horse Prairie near Dillon and ranched for a time.

In 1977 he moved to Hamilton and had been a truck driver since. Survivors include his parents, Oliver and Mildred Long, Hamilton; a brother, Ralph, Spokane, three sisters, Jeanie Long, Brody; Mary Long, Citrus Heights, and Gloria Donaldson, Hamilton; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Long, Hamilton. Memorials may be made to the Shodair Crippled Children's Hospital at Helena or the Yellowstone Boys Ranch at Vi mile South of Lolo on U.S.

She received her schooling in Demersville, near Kalispell.

In 1917 she home-steaded between Hot Springs and Ronan, near the Little Bit-terroot River. She married Neal Melton in June 1918 in Kalispell. He died in Dec. 3, 1964. She married Richard Ricketts in August 1967.

She also was preceded in death by three brothers. Survivors include her husband in Whitefish; a son, Leon Melton, Hot Springs; three step-children; a brother, Asa Clothier, Lakeside; and two grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the United Methodist Church In Ronan with the Rev. Warren Smith officiating.

Burial will be in the Mount View Cemetery in Ronan under the direction of Shri-der's Mortuary. She was born May 13, 1897, in South Stillwater, and raised in that state. She married Algot Sandman in Holly, in November 1919. The couple lived for several years in Helena, where Mr. Sandman worked for the railroad.

In 1960, she moved to Hamilton. Mrs. Sandman was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Survivors include a son, Don, Livingston; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Barbar, Huntington Beach, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Dowling Chapel. The Rev. Gregory Karlsgodt will officiate and burial will be in the Riverview Cemtery at Hamilton. Jessie Ripke BIGFORK Funeral services for Jessie Ripke, who died Sunday in Bigfork, will be in the Little Brown Church in Big-fork at 10:30 a m.
