8, 1999, three days prior to her 90th birthday, of ageassociated complications at St. Patrick Hospital. She was born on Dec. 11, 1909, in Huson to William and Delia Boyer. Louise was raised in the Missoula area and enjoyed a rich heritage in the Frenchtown Valley where she remained active in volunteer and Williams social activities until the time of her death.

She was descended from four generations of nurses and began her own career at St. Patrick School of Nursing in 1927 at the age of 19. She worked in area hospitals throughout her life, often bringing several generations of the same family into this world. She achieved her associate degree in nursing in 1968 and was admired and well liked by the multitude of people she cared for over her lifetime. Louise remained fiercely independent even in later years, remaining in her private residence, caring for her own yard and continuing to drive her car.

She was actively involved in exercise studies at New Directions and was a member of St. Francis Parish, the Daughters of Isabella, the St. Anne's Society, the Frenchtown and Missoula Senior Citizens centers, the Missoula and Arlee historical societies, AARP, Missoula Aging Services, American Legion and the Welcoma Club. Her generosity, compassion and positive attitude will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her brother, Joe Boyer of Frenchtown; two daughters, Lois Brown of Missoula and Rose Marie Patterson of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; eight grandchildren, Cindy Duley of Alma, Tim Chase of Livingston, Terry Chase of Redondo Beach, Tom Chase of Quechee, Ted Chase of Denver, Toby Chase of Bali, Indonesia, David Patterson of Pierce, Idaho, and Debbie Patterson of Clarkston, and three greatgrandchildren.

Visitation will begin Sunday, Dec. 12, at noon and end with a vigil service at 7 p.m. at the Malletta Family of Funeral Homes, Livingston Chapel, 224 W. Spruce St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m.

at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Burial will be in the New St. Mary's Cemetery. A reception will follow in Reidy Hall at Robert Libert Roseleip Sr.

ST. IGNATIUS Robert Libert Roseleip 91, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999, at St. Luke's Hospital in Ronan. He was born Dec.

11, 1907, to Dennis and Sadie Libert Roseleip in Platteville, Wis. Bob graduated from Platteville High School. He worked at the "Hat Ranch" and 3T ranches in Wyoming, which intensified his love for horses. Bob and Zada Marie Wunderwald were joined in marriage in 1928 in Lewistown. They celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary this past October.

After farming for five years in Wisconsin, during the Depression, Bob, Marie and young son Bob Jr. settled in the Mission Valley near St. Ignatius. They raised beef and dairy cattle and were active members of the community for 65 years. Bob helped organize the first FFA chapter in St.

Ignatius, was instrumental in starting the Lake County Fair, serving on its board, and served six years on the Farm Home Administration Board. In 1951 and 1952, Bob, Marie and daughter Linda lived in Conrad while Bob managed Wunderwald Implement Co. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruth Scallon and brother Gordon Roseleip, all of Wisconsin. One of his greatest joys was his family. He is survived by his wife Marie and their two children and their spouses, Robert Roseleip Jr.

and Dorothy, and Linda Werdin and Dave, all of St. Ignatius. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, their spouses and 21, great-grandchildren, Dennis and Dixie Roseleip family of Cutbank, David and Jan Roseleip and family of Spokane, Jerry and Billye Roseleip and family of St. Ignatius, Julie and Matt Indreland and family of Missoula, Jeanne and Guy Rasmussen and family, also of Missoula, Mike Roseliep of Issaquah, Monty and Sue Werdin and boys and Mark Werdin, all of St. Ignatius.

He also has one surviving sister, Dorothy Pinkerton of Plover, a sister-in-law, Golda Leininger of Lewistown; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Monday, Dec. 13, at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in St. Ignatius.

Memorials may be sent to the charity of your choice. To honor Bob's wishes, a family memorial and interment of the cremated remains will be held during the Roseleip family reunion this coming summer. PARADISE 88, a longtime passed away on 1999, at Clark in Plains. She was born Payette, Idaho, Howard Franklin Greene Boyer. an infant, she moved with her parents to eastern Montana, where they homesteaded.

In 1930, she graduated from high school in Rapid City, S.D., after which she employed there the Pennington Helen Stephens Helen Stephens, Paradise resident, Thursday, Dec. 9, Valley Nursing Home on Jan. 10, 1911, in the daughter of Boyer and Florence was at Stephens Stephens County Courthouse. As a young woman, she moved to the Plains area and worked at the Sanders County Courthouse. In Plains, she met and married Wendell E.

Stephens. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Oct. 22, 1999. Helen and Wendell raised three sons and one daughter at the family ranch just east of Paradise. Throughout her adult life, Helen was active in the Paradise community.

Helen devoted her life to loving and caring for her family for whom countless beautiful memories remain. "When we think of childhood days, we can see you there doing all those many things with tender loving care. You treated us so special, taught us values true We're thankful God gave to us a mother such as you. Helen was preceded in death by her eldest son Marlin in 1969, by her parents and stepfather, A.E. Bates.

She is survived by her husband, Wendell of the family home near Paradise; two sons and daughters-inlaw, Robert and Cecy Stephens and Clifford and Judy Stephens, all of Paradise; one daughter and son-inlaw, Colleen and Bob Newman of Missoula; two brothers, Delbert Boyer of Boise, Idaho, and Bob Boyer of Davis, two sisters, Edith Loder of Plains and Etta Thumler of Federal Way, 11 grandchildren, Shanna Miller and Sheila Stephens, both of Seattle, Brent Stephens of Oklahoma City, Karval Kelly of Santa Maria, Sydne Connolly of Missoula, Shelby Knudson of Polson, Kimberly Behan and Dawn Brekke, both of Spokane, Scott Newman and Greg Stephens, both of Missoula, and Brenda Offerdahl of Clarkston, 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, at the United Methodist Church in Plains with the Rev. Karen McRae officiating.

A luncheon will follow at the Paradise Methodist Church Community Hall in Paradise. Memorials may be made to Clark Fork Valley Nursing Home in Plains. Coffelt-Bunch Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. Libert Ralph Petersen CASSELTON, N.D. Ralph H.

Petersen, 78, of Casselton, died Dec. 2, 1999, at his home. The funeral was held Dec. 6 at Martin's Lutheran Church, Casselton. The Rev.

Paula V. Mehmal officiated. Music was provided by soloist Christy Larson and organist VaLoin McConnell. Pallbearers were Milt Waslien, Gordon Schmitz, Ken Gudmunson, Mike Brown, Allan Wang and Robert Schroeder. Military rites were provided by the Casselton VFW and the Erie American Legion Post.

Petersen was born July 14, 1921, near Erie, N.D., where he grew up and attended school. He married Phyllis Reitan on April 12, 1944, in Fargo. He entered the U.S. Army and served in Japan during World War II. Following his discharge from the Army, the couple lived in Erie, where he farmed.

He purchased a milk route and they moved to Casselton in 1953. He sold the route in 1976 and started the Hardware Hank store in Casselton. He retired in 1989 and the business was taken over by his son, Rory. Since his retirement, the couple spent winters in Arizona. A member of Martin's Lutheran Church, he was also a member of the Erie American Legion, served two terms on the Casselton City Council, served as commander of the Casselton VFW and served on the Casselton Boy Scouts council.

Surviving are his wife, Phyllis; four sons, Richard (Nanette) of Grafton, Roger (Sherry) of Missoula, Ronald of Fargo, N.D., and Rory of Casselton; a daughter, Sandra (Darwin) Fosse of Prior Lake, a brother, Milton (Grace) Petersen of Hunter, N.D.; a sister, Mildred (William) Barr of Colorado Springs, 11 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. McNamara, 89, of Missoula, passed away on Thursday, Dec.

9, 1999, at St. Patrick Hospital of natural causes. He was born on Oct. 7, 1910, in Roseville, the son of William and Estella McNamara. Bill wished to thank dear friends and family for making life's journey an incredible adventure.

He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Aron K. Hansen. Bill is survived by his wife Margaret (Fitzgerald) McNamara; son Mike McNamara; daughters Maureen Hansen, Colleen and Bill Green, Kate and Kevin Pfau, and Patsy and Bill Galiher; brother-in-law John and wife Frances Fitzgerald; and nine grandchildren, Kyle, Tyler, Trenton, Megan, Sarah, Michael, Chris, Taylor and Justin. At Bill's request, a private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Poverello Center at 535 Ryman Missoula, Mont.

59802. Arrangements are under the direction of Garden City Funeral Home and Crematory. Regina Rose Holden Plumb MISSOULA Our beloved mother passed away Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999, at her home from natural causes. She was born on March 15, 1920, to Charles Daniel and Lillian Holden.

Regina was raised and educated in Missoula. After graduating from high school, she enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed in Washington, D.C., and Oahu in Hawaii. After her discharge, she continued her education at Kinman Business College in Spokane. On Oct.

15, 1947, she married Richard M. Plumb Sr. and they had three daughters, Kathleen L. Ament, Sharon M. Maxson, both of Missoula, and Diana (Dianne) R.

Sain and sonin-law, Jack of Hamilton; two Joseph C. Plumb of Granite Falls, and Richard M. Plumb Jr. of Bozeman. Regina worked for the old General Hospital for several years, starting in 1959.

She then worked for Dobbins, DeGuire and Tucker accounting firm until retirement age. After her retirement, she worked as a part-time bookkeeper for the Dairy Queen-Orange Julius. She was involved in volunteer work for Meals on Wheels, keeping the books for the Missoula Food Bank and volunteer work for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Many knew her as Jean, and square dancing, bowling, golf and the Missoula Children's Theatre productions, along with camping and fishing, were her pleasures. She was blessed with eight grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.

She has two sisters, Mary Talley and Dolores Holm and a brother, Charles T. Holden, all of Spokane. Her death was preceded by her husband Richard Plumb Sr. in 1989, and a sister, Lois Keith in 1994. Regina was a member of St.

Francis Parish. A vigil service was held Thursday at the Malletta Family of Funeral Homes, Livingston Chapel. A memorial Mass was celebrated Friday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Cremation interment will be in the New St.

Pauline Doris Ward MISSOULA On Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, Pauline Doris Ward passed away from natural causes and joined her beloved husband who preceded her in death five months earlier. She was born in Yakima, to Alice and Paul Dean Parks on June 11, 1925. She married Billy Monroe Ward on April 11, 1944, in San Francisco and they enjoyed 55 years of marriage.

She was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and music. She loved attending church and receiving communion. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents and one brother. Her memory lives on in her children, Daniel Ward, Alice and her husband Carroll Bardgett, David and his wife Belinda Ward and Lorene Ballard, all of Missoula; 11 grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren.

She was a very loving person and volunteered for service organizations throughout her life. Her presence will be greatly missed. Services will 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, at the First Christian Church, 2701 S.

Russell St. with the Rev. Dan Dixson officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. A reception will be held back at the church following the interment.

DIRECTOR 543-3133 800-827-3133 BRIEFS Two-year-old killed in Anaconda house fire ANACONDA (AP) A 2- year-old girl was killed and four other family members hospitalized when fire swept through the family residence early Friday. The dead child was the daughter of Sara and David McDonald, who were hospitalized along with two other children for smoke inhalation, other non-life-threatening injuries. Names of the children were not released. Late Friday, fire officials said they still had not determined the cause of the fire, although it started in the rear of the house. Victims of 2-vehicle accident identified SHEPHERD (AP) The two people killed in a two-vehicle crash at a Shepherd intersection were identified Friday as Gregory Harrison of Shepherd and Patricia Cleveland of Ballantine.

The Highway Patrol said Harrison, 42, was driving a pickup truck that crashed into a car driven by James Cleveland, 75, who was critically hurt and hospitalized in Billings.
