12 Missoulian, Friday, October 12, 1979 Obituaries. Mary Thurston Mary Elizabeth Thurston, 77, Cecil H. Thurston in Missoula. Neat Looking Pantsuit died Tuesday at a Missoula hoS' 2ne ana ner nusDana operated the Hill and Dale Dairy for 25 years. She later worked as a cook at various Missoula res- 00 35 Mary Shriner rodeo clown and rider and she rode in races and shows as they traveled throughout the west and south.

During the 1930's they operated restaurants in Billings and cooked for railroad crews until-. returning to the Bitterroot Valley. In 1944 they moved to Missoula where she has resided since. Her husband preceded her in death in July 1975. She was a member of Women of the Moose Chapter No.

243 and Missoula Senior Citizens. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Peterson, Missoula; a brother, Ted Haddix, Hamilton; and two grandchildren. Services will, be Monday at the Squire Simmons and Can-Rose Chapel with Rev. David J. Graff Officiating.

Burial will follow in the family plot at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. MISSOULA Mary Shriner, 78, 3110 Grant died Wednesday at a Missoula hospital. She was born at Woodside, May 25, 1901, daughter of R.B. and Sara Haddix. She was raised in the Bitterroot Valley and at an early age became an accomplished rider.

She traveled the west and rode in horse races and rodeos. She married Robert (Shorty) Shriner in Missouri in 1924. He worked as a pital. She was born Feb. 19, 1902 in Superior, Wise, to John and Barbara Meaders.

She moved to Missoula as a child, and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy. She also attended Western Montana Normal School at Dillon. Rosary Services will be held on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Squire Simmons and Carr Rose Chapel. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday at St.

Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Fred Reidy officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery.

He was born May 26, 1932, In Kalispell, a son of James L. and Tabitha Wheeler. He attended Kalispell schools and graduated from Flathead County High School. In November 1951 he moved to California, where he entered the Army and served for three years. He then moved to Seattle, and returned to California in 1962.

Mr. Wheeler was an iron worker most of his life. He was preceded in death by his father in 1969 and by a sister, Velma Brown. He is survived by his wife, Helene; stepdaughter, Connie; and son, Steven, all in Washington state; his mother, Tabitha Wheeler, Roseburg, three brothers, James, Missoula; Elgin, Plains; and Vernon, Kalispell; five sisters, Mildred Hodge, Missoula; Opal Premo, Canyonville, Lois Holland, Portland, Nancy Kemmis, Ridgeville, S.C.; Isabella Bena-han, Ladson, S.C.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m in the Johnson Chapel with the Rev.

Trego, who was killed Wednesday afternoon in a logging accident, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Eureka. Mr. Nordahl was killed while operating a skidder in the Meadow Creek area about' 10 miles west of Fortine. He was born Jan.

6, 1952, in Kalispell. He attended school in Fortine for two years and later moved to Trego, where he completed his elementary education. He graduated from Lincoln County High School in Eureka in 1970. He later joined his brother in the family's logging business. He is survived by his parents, Paul and Yolanda Nordahl of Trego; a brother, Jean, Eureka; his grandmother Aladina Viz-zutti, Trego; a uncle, Lido Viz-zitti, Missoula; and an aunt, Ida Hruby of Warrenton, Ore.

The Rev. Carl Pershall will officiate at the funeral Saturday and burial will follow in the Fortine Cemetery under the direction on the Vial Funeral Home in Eureka. In the service MICHAEL J. REDEEN Navy Seaman Michael J. Redeen, son of Donald G.

and Marilyn L. Redeen of 132 Wapi-kiya has completed recruit training at the Naval Training Center, San Diego. During the eight-week training cycle, he studied general military subjects designed to prepare him for further academic and on-the-job training in one of the Navy's 85 basic occupational fields. Included in his studies were seamanship, close-order drill, Naval history and first aid. Personnel who complete this course of instruction are eligible for three hours of college credit in Physical Education and Hygiene.

A graduate of Sentinel High School, he joined the Navy in July 1979. RAY D. ANDERSON Marine Pvt. Ray D. Anderson, son of Charles R.

and Linda E. Davis, Libby, has completed the infantry combat training course at the Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, Calif. During the six-week course, he received classroom instruction and participated in field exercises involving infantry tactics; the construction and camouflage of fighting positions; and the use of mines, demolitions and intra-company communications equipment. His specialized training centered on the operation, employment and maintenance of 60mm and 81mm mortars. He joined the Marine Corps in April, 1979.
